Villa Harrah - TAHOE

The historic Villa Harrah, on the eastern shores of Lake Tahoe completed, a 10-million-dollar renovation of the over 22,000 square foot property that pays homage to its 1963 origins while simultaneously introducing a modern-day aesthetic.  Solanna Design spent 4 years on the project and was the only designer hired by the owners to renovate this unique property. Once owned by the famed Harrah Casino Magnate, William Fisk Harrah, this sprawling estate was built specifically to entertain his legendary friends such as Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack.  Famed celebrities came here to party and crash for a while in this secluded cove. Solanna Design LLC has modernized this home with a new purpose and identity for a new era.

Valued now at over 30 million, the Villa Harrah has been reinterpreted with resort-style amenities that include a relaxing salt cave, indoor spa and sauna, plunge pool and intriguing cinema room.  While designed to make the most of its spectacular sweeping views of the lake and mountains, the interior spaces provide nooks and crannies that cozily boast handcrafted use of materials at every turn. Sourced materials and finishes from all over the world mix to create interesting and sometimes often hidden surprises in each room.

The house’s great room maintains its mid-century roots within its 35’ panoramic view of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra mountain range.  A truly visceral “WOW!”  The family and their cast of friends and visitors entertain in opulence within four intimate zones- billiards lounge, sports bar, dining room and a cozy seating lounge surrounding a large circular suspended fireplace.
